Hand Felting with Rose Kramer

We are very privileged to have Rose back with us again this year. We marvel at her work. And, she’s a fabulous instructor as well. This time Rose is offering classes in felted pocketbooks, hats, felted paintings and needle felted animals, flowers, lambs. We have scheduled some of the Rose classes other we have left unscheduled but are available to be taken at any of the following times. Any Monday 10:00am -Noon, Tuesday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday 10:00am - Noon. The prices of her classes are $40.00 including supplies in group lesson and $55.00 including supplies for a private lesson, unless otherwise noted. Hand Felt a Hat - When you walkout of this class you will be sporting a new hat designed and made by your own hands. Come let Rose walk you through all the steps it takes to make your own hand felted hat. You will receive the pattern and instructions to take home. She will teach you how to embellish your hat to fit your own style.

Bunny and Chicks - Just in time for spring and Easter, learn how to needle felt little bunnies and chicks. These little creatures are perfect to put in Easter baskets or to use as decorations on your Easter table. Stop in and see our sample. Great class for kid’s 8 and up.

Easter Eggs - Just in time for Easter, learn to make Easter Eggs out of felt. Combination of needle felting and wet felting - fun, decorative Easter eggs. Great class for kid’s 8 and up.

Felting Jewelry - Explore the many possibilities of fun felted making pins, necklaces and earrings. Great class for kid’s 8 and up.

Felted Flower Brooch - Learn how to make a flower pin that is all the fashion. In this class you will also learn how to make earrings and necklaces. This class will teach you both wet and needle felting.

Spring Lamb - Make an adorable 3 - D lamb while you learn to needle felt. This class will teach you how to incorporate wet felting with needle felting. Fun for all ages and makes a great little gift for that sheep lover in your life.


WEAVING AND SPINNING CLASSES

Classes are on an open enrollment basis, unless date is given, call to sign up for one today.  You will receive a 10% discount on all purchases, excluding sale items, for the length of the class. Call to schedule an appointment for some classes. You must take any series of classes within a four-month period. Classes are not transferable or refundable

Weaving -Learn the basics of weaving. Learn to warp a loom and weave four place mats or a scarf. No equipment or experience required.

Introduction to Tapestry Weaving - Tapestry weaving has been used for centuries and by many different cultures to create beautiful pictures in woven cloth. The class will introduction to basic tapestry weaving techniques, concentrating on basics of joining colors together. Experienced weavers can try their hand at a more free-form style of weaving, and beginners will find the simple technique easy to learn.

Spinning to Weave  - Do you spin and weave but are afraid to use your handspun especially for warp? In this class you will learn spinning techniques that will make your yarns stronger and more consistent. We will also cover how twist will affect the look of your handwoven fabric and other design considerations for spinning to weave. Prerequisite one year of spinning experience and knowledge of warping a loom size.

Drop Spindle Spinning - Learn the basics of spinning using a drop spindle. This workshop is a great introduction to beginner spinning and for all those that want to make spinning more portable.

Beginner Spinning - Learn to spin using a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. Learn about the many different types of fleece.

Tutoring Time for Spinners - Been away from spinning for a while and need to refresh your skills? You have been spinning but do not feel confident in your technique or if there is a fiber that you want to try but are afraid too on your own, come in for some tutoring.
Tuesday - Anytime after 4:30 PM for one hour or by appointment

Knitting:
Beginners - If you've never had needles in your hands, then this class is for you.  Bring a friend and learn together.  Knitting can be very relaxing. Beginning every Saturday at 9:00 am and Monday and Friday at 10:30 am.

Socks, Socks, and More Socks:

Sock Construction - Take the mystery out of making a pair of socks. We have broken it down into three sessions. The first week will cover working with DP needles and getting your sock started. The second week will cover turning your heel and working the gusset. The last week will shape your toe and Kitchener stitch it closed. Come knit a pair of socks. Enthusiasm and a will to learn are all that you need. When finished this class you will have a pair of socks to wear.
$30.00 - 3 sessions - 1½ hours

 For sock knitters ready to try a new method, we’re offering two new classes:

 From the Toe Up -Start at the toe, end with the cuff. This is a good technique to use when you are not sure how long to make the top of a sock. You will learn some principles the first class and get started on the toe. In the next class you will learn to turn the heel and be on our way up the cuff. With this technique you will never have to worry about running out of yarn. $20.00 - 2 sessions - 1½ hours

 Socks Soar on two Round Needles - A newer technique using o - 24" or longer round needles to knit socks. If you have a problem with DP needles, try this method. When finished you will have a great pair of socks. The classes are broken into the same weekly sessions as the Sock Construction class above.

Crocheting:
Beginner's Crochet - Learn the basics of crochet. Learn how to make granny squares, shell pattern and read a basic pattern.
